John Critchinson Christmas Party
John was pianist with Ronnie Scott's various bands '79 to '95. Also with Morrissey Mullen Band '81 to'83 and worked with "who's who" of American jazz musicians. Now working primarily with quartet with Art Themen, formed 1996, and trio, with Jacqui Hicks occasionally on vocals.
A classically trained clarinettist, Jacqui studied saxophone & flute on the jazz course at Leeds College of Music and started singing during her three years there. She continued her education, still as a saxophone player, on the one year post-graduate jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Shortly after leaving the Guildhall Jacqui joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as their vocalist. Since 1993 Jacqui has worked with the jazz/funk band Shakatak, both as backing vocalist and sax player.
The party is made complete by the wonderful Bobby Wellins on tenor with Dave Green on bass and Dave Barry on drums.
