Modern jazz on Sundays at JAGZ features the top musicians in the country - with occassional overseas visitors. The audience are very involved in the day and often recommend new bands that they have heard. This is very much a listening day but with great atmosphere generated by good food and drink and warmth from the musicians who find the venue just about their favorite on the circuit. The style is modern and mainstream, with a vocalist led group once a month. Many of the groups take the opportunity to promote a new album, often with their own compositions, but we do encourage a fair proportion of standards and favorites.
